WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO

It is estimated that there is currently enough clothing on the planet to clothe the next six generations, yet clothing companies are producing twice as many pieces today than they did in 2000.

Of the 100 billion garments produced each year, around 92 million tons end up in landfills. In other words, the equivalent of one dump truck of clothing is sent to landfill sites every second. As fast fashion has largely diminished the quality of clothing produced (and replaced it with quantity), many pieces only last a few wash cycles and quickly meet their fate in the waste bin.

Shopping secondhand not only helps to keep items out of landfills, but exists as the most sustainable alternative to fast fashion. Many vintage garments reflect higher craftsmanship and better quality than newer options, as these pieces were designed to last.

Thank you for shopping secondhand and helping us keep fashion circular!
